The new office for the Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation creates a light-filled environment that reflects the organization’s long-standing commitment to research and policy work around the world. The 5,000-square-foot suite balances open, adaptable areas for convening with quiet private offices.
By exposing the building’s hidden waffle slab, the design raises the ceiling height to 12 feet and reveals a dramatic structural rhythm. Acoustic panels nest within the concrete coffers, while linear lighting follows the grid to cast an even, warm glow.
A dark, sculptural vestibule with illuminated shelving opens into a bright lounge and conference room saturated with northern light. A sliding glass partition transforms the room to host seminars, book launches, and policy discussions. Floor-to-ceiling shelving—accented by a bold red diagonal—highlights the work of the foundation’s grantees. Offices along the perimeter are wrapped in gradient-frosted glass, ensuring privacy without blocking daylight.
